Connecting to Accounting
Before reports can be generated, the Reporting Platform must be authorised to access your Accounting organisation. This is completed securely using the Accounting package's OAuth 2.0 authentication process.
Why do I need to connect to Accounting?
The Reporting Platform reads accounting information directly from your Accounting organisation in order to produce management reports.
Without this connection the Reporting Platform cannot import your data or generate reports.
Connecting your Organisation
- Log in to the Reporting Platform.
- Select Connect to Accounting.
- Sign in to your Accounting account.
- Select the Accounting organisation you wish to authorise.
- Click Allow Access.
- Once authorised, you will asked to close the browsers authorisation tab.
What happens next?
Once the connection has been approved, the Reporting Platform securely stores the authorisation required to synchronise your data.
The initial synchronisation then imports information such as:
- Clients
- Items
- Invoices
- Credit Notes
- Quotes
- Purchase Orders
- Projects
Security
- Your Accounting username and password are never stored by the Reporting Platform.
- Authentication is handled entirely by the Accounting package.
- You may revoke access from within Accounting package at any time.
- All communication with yout Accounting package uses secure encrypted connections.
Need to reconnect?
If your Accounting authorisation expires or has been revoked, simply reconnect your organisation using the Connect to Accounting package option.
The Reporting Platform will continue synchronising your data once authorisation has been restored.
