Connecting to Xero
Before reports can be generated, the Reporting Platform must be authorised to access your Xero organisation. This is completed securely using Xero's OAuth 2.0 authentication process.
Why do I need to connect to Xero?
The Reporting Platform reads accounting information directly from your Xero organisation in order to produce management reports.
Without this connection the Reporting Platform cannot import your data or generate reports.
Connecting your Organisation
- Log in to the Reporting Platform.
- Select Connect to Xero.
- Sign in to your Xero account.
- Select the Xero organisation you wish to authorise.
- Click Allow Access.
- Once authorised, you will asked to close the browsers authorisation tab.
What happens next?
Once the connection has been approved, the Reporting Platform securely stores the authorisation required to synchronise your data.
The initial synchronisation then imports information such as:
- Clients
- Items
- Invoices
- Credit Notes
- Quotes
- Projects
Security
- Your Xero username and password are never stored by the Reporting Platform.
- Authentication is handled entirely by Xero.
- You may revoke access from within Xero at any time.
- All communication with Xero uses secure encrypted connections.
Need to reconnect?
If your Xero authorisation expires or has been revoked, simply reconnect your organisation using the Connect to Xero option.
The Reporting Platform will continue synchronising your data once authorisation has been restored.
